Nsoatreman distances itself from General Manager’s comments over buses promise

Ghana Premier League club, Nsoatreman, has dissociated itself from comments made by their General Manager, Eric Alagidede, who said clubs need tax rebates, not the buses promised by NPP Flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

During the launch of the 2024 NPP Manifesto over the weekend, the Vice President pledged to gift each Ghana league club a bus if elected president in the December general elections.

Nsoatreman, owned by Employment and Labour Relations Minister Ignatius Baffour Awuah, stated in a release on Wednesday that Alagidede’s comments were made in his individual capacity as an industry player and not on behalf of the club.

The club also apologized and pledged its support for Bawumia’s initiative to alleviate the ‘suffering’ of clubs.

Meanwhile, Nsoatreman will depart Ghana on Thursday for Cameroon ahead of the reverse fixture of their CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary tie against Chad’s Elect-Sport. The Ghana FA Cup champions hold a healthy 3-0 advantage from the first leg played at the Accra Sports Stadium last weekend.
