Nana Kwasi Gyambibi, who is a Special Assistant to Kotoko Chairman, Dr Kwame Kyei, has revealed that the National Sports Authority prevented the club from training at the Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday.
The Management member said the news came to them as a surprise because they wanted to train at the venue for Wednesday and Friday to prepare for the Etoile’s game.
According to him, the NSA told them to pay GH¢ 1,000 before they would be granted access to train at the said venue.
“The news came as a surprise to us after receiving a letter from the NSA today to pay GHC1000 before we are granted access to the stadium for training. We had plans for training there on Friday, we can’t stop training there.
Gyambibi also pleaded on the government to come to their aid as they have a lot to cater for financially in the CAF champions league tournament.
“We are however calling on the government to intervene and reduce the financial burden on us. We have a lot to cater for financially so the government has to quickly intervene for us to have access to the field”.
Kotoko will lock horns with Etoile du Sahel on Sunday at the Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium before playing as guests in Sahel in a week time.
