The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has extended its congratulations to Muslims across Ghana for their dedication and discipline throughout the Ramadan fasting period.
In a statement, the NRSA acknowledged the spiritual commitment of the Muslim community, highlighting the values of discipline and compassion that contribute to promoting road safety.
“As we approach the joyous occasion of Eid al-Fitr, we join in the celebrations with prayers for peace, good health, and the right attitude to ensure safety during this festive period,” the NRSA said.
With the Eid al-Fitr festivities fast approaching, the NRSA has cautioned that the increased movement and activity on the roads could raise the risk of traffic accidents.
In response, the Authority reminded all road users to take personal responsibility for their safety and that of others during the busy season.
The NRSA encouraged drivers and motorcyclists to avoid speeding, overloading, and reckless driving. They also urged pedestrians to refrain from jaywalking and use designated crossing points, such as zebra crossings and pedestrian footbridges.
The NRSA reiterated its commitment to collaborating with law enforcement agencies to maintain a safe road environment for all during the festive period, ensuring that everyone enjoys a safe and peaceful Eid al-Fitr celebration.
