NPP To Open Nomination For Presidential Primaries On May 26

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has revealed its plans to commence the nomination process for its presidential primaries on Friday, May 26.

The announcement was made following the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council meetings held on Monday, April 3, 2023.

Aspiring candidates vying for the party’s flagbearer position will have until June 24 to submit their nominations.

To participate in the primaries, each aspirant is required to pay a non-refundable nomination fee of GH¢50,000.

The nomination forms can be obtained from the Office of the General Secretary at the Party Headquarters located in Asylum Down.

The forms will be available for collection from Monday to Friday between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.

The New Patriotic Party aims to select its presidential candidate through a rigorous and inclusive process that will culminate in the National Congress scheduled for Saturday, November 4, 2023.

Already, some members of the NPP have declared their intention to contest in the flagbearer race.

As it stands now, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Mr Kwabena Agyapong, Mr Kennedy Agyapong, Mr Joe Ghartey and Mr Boakye Agyarko have all declared their intentions to contest.
