NPP Shocked By Alan Kyerematen’s Resignation
The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has described as unfortunate the decision by Mr. Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen to resign from the party.
Instead, he is throwing his hat in the 2024 presidential contest as an independent candidate.
A statement issued in Accra and signed by the General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong, indicated that the party would formally respond to the move by Mr Kyerematen at a news conference on Tuesday, 26 September 2023.
Meanwhile, analysts of the Kyerematen “political volcano” say the move would certainly split NPP votes and hand political power to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
