The New Patriotic Party (NPP) states that it is fully prepared to conduct its presidential primary on Friday, January 31, with a total of 211,849 delegates expected to vote across the country.
The party has established 333 polling centres spread across 276 constituencies nationwide.
While most constituencies will vote at a single centre, some locations have been given more than one voting point due to large delegate numbers.
Party officials say the arrangement is intended to reduce congestion and allow delegates to vote smoothly within the scheduled time.
Chairman of the NPP Elections Committee Joseph Osei-Owusu said all necessary preparations have been completed in collaboration with the Electoral Commission and security agencies.
According to him, the EC will manage the polls from start to finish, including voting, counting and declaration of results, to strengthen confidence in the process.
“Everything that has to be done is done. The Commission is ready, the police are ready, and everything they need to be able to do their work has been provided.”
Voting will open at 07:00 and close at 14:00 at all centres.
As part of efforts to protect the integrity of the primary, the party has abolished proxy voting, meaning only accredited delegates will be allowed to cast ballots in person.
Security will be provided by the Ghana Police Service, with between 70 and 150 officers deployed to each polling centre, based on a risk assessment.
Military support has also been arranged for specific areas in the Upper East Region.
The final register of 211,849 delegates was compiled after a validation exercise that removed 2,827 deceased members and 653 individuals who had forfeited their membership.
Agents representing all five aspirants took part in verifying the data to ensure transparency.
The five contenders are Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr Bryan Acheampong, and Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum.
Party leaders say they are confident the exercise will be peaceful, credible, and unifying.
