Former Member of Parliament for Yendi, Farouk Aliu Mahama, has voiced strong confidence in Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President and the NPP’s 2024 presidential candidate, ahead of the party’s flagbearer primaries.
In an interview on Wednesday, January 21, he expressed optimism that the contest would end in a clear and decisive victory for Dr Bawumia.
“In the NPP race, I strongly believe that Bawumia will win 14 regions out of 16. This is based on what we are seeing on the ground and the overwhelming support he is receiving from delegates across the country,” Farouk Aliu Mahama said.
He added that Dr Bawumia’s appeal goes beyond individual regions, highlighting his ability to unify the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
“The NPP race is about selecting a leader who can unite the party and inspire confidence. That is why I am convinced that Bawumia will win 14 regions out of 16, his vision for Ghana resonates with the grassroots and party executives alike,” he noted.
Farouk Aliu Mahama also referenced Dr Bawumia’s achievements as Vice President, citing his policies on economic growth, financial inclusion, and national development.
He concluded with a call to action for delegates to consider unity and leadership quality in their choice.
“The stakes are high in the NPP race. Delegates must choose wisely, and I am confident that Bawumia will win 14 regions out of 16, bringing strength and cohesion to the party,” Farouk Aliu Mahama said in an interview with Joy News.
