Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante-Mampong, Francis Addai-Nimoh, has accused the Mampong constituency executives of denying him access to purchase a copy of the nomination forms.

He is, therefore, appealing to the leadership of the party in the Ashanti Region to help him pick nomination forms to contest in the upcoming primaries.

The former MP is set to contest the incumbent, Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, in the upcoming parliamentary primaries scheduled for April 25, 2020.

But in a letter addressed to the party, Addai-Nimoh said attempts to purchase a copy of the Parliamentary nomination forms at the constituency level has been unsuccessful.

“This appeal has become necessary because I am being denied access and obstructed to purchase the said forms at the Mampong Constituency Level of the party”, parts of the letter stated.

He accused the Mampong Constituency Chairman, Luther Asare of instantly selling copies of the forms meant for the constituency in Kumasi.

This development comes in the wake of widespread agitations from potential candidates from Sekyere East, Asokwa and Bekwai —who accused the leadership of the party of scheming to protect first time sitting MP’s and female aspirants by preventing potential candidates from contesting sitting Members of Parliament.

Mr Addae-Nimoh was one of the aspirants who challenged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s bid to lead the NPP into the 2016 elections.
