Member of Parliament for Tolon and Deputy Majority Chief Whip, Habib Iddrisu will face no competition in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary slated for January 27, 2023.
Habib Iddrisu is the only NPP aspirant who filed to contest in the upcoming primaries after the close of nomination on December 25th, 2023.
He became MP in 2021 after contesting and winning massively in the 2020 election.
During the 2020 parliamentary election, Habib Iddrisu polled 31,429 votes to beat the NDC’s Yussif Adamu who polled 22,145 votes.
Meanwhile, Habib Iddrisu has promised to increase the votes for the NPP and Dr Mahamadu Bawumia in the 2024 election.
“I believe my work as MP for the past three years speaks for itself and I am very sure that is why nobody contested me. The Chiefs and people here in Tolon are happy with me and you can see for yourself “.
It will be recalled that the party conducted primaries in orphan constituencies ahead of the 2024 election on December 2, 2023.
All the parliamentary contestants are very confident of working tediously to assist the flagbearer of the party Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to ‘break the 8’ in the 2024 presidential election.
