NPP presidential primary: We are ready- EC assures

The Electoral Commission (EC) has expressed its complete readiness for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential Primary, which is set to take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

The Commission has provided assurances to stakeholders that all logistical and administrative preparations are progressing well to facilitate a smooth and credible election.

Speaking in an interview, the Deputy Director of Research at the EC, Fred Tetteh, indicated that the distribution of election materials to the various voting centres is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, January 27.

He mentioned that essential preparatory tasks, including the printing of ballot papers, have been successfully finalised under stringent supervision.

“Preparations are far ahead, in terms of printing the ballot papers, in the presence of the aspirants’ representatives. That has been completed,” Mr Tetteh said.

He emphasised that the EC has assumed full custody of the ballot papers following their printing, and noted that the voter album for delegates has also been received.

“The EC, as of now, has taken full custody of the ballot papers from the printing house. We have also received the voter album of the delegates, and hopefully, by Tuesday at the latest, all the materials will be dispatched to the 16 regional capitals for onward transmission to the constituency centres,” he added in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on Citi News.
