The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has opened nominations for the Akuapem North Parliamentary primary.
The nomination opens today, Tuesday, November 28, 2023, and closes on Thursday, November 30, 2023.
A press statement signed and issued by its General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, said “The Party has also approved detailed Rules and Regulations to govern the conduct of the parliamentary primary election, which will be made available to stakeholders.
“However, Nomination Forms will be available at the Constituency Party Office for purchase,” it stated.
Meanwhile, the NPP will hold an extraordinary constituency delegates conference on Saturday, December 2, 2023, to elect its parliamentary candidates in constituencies where the party has no parliamentary representation.
Elections will be conducted in all the “orphan” constituencies on the said day except Ketu North, Akatsi North, Yilo Krobo, Jomoro, Fomena, and Bawku Central.
The National Executive Committee has also rescheduled the date for the conduct of the party’s parliamentary primaries in constituencies where the party has sitting MPs.
The new date for the conduct of the primaries is January 20, 2024, and nominations will open on December 20 2023, and close on December 22, 2023.
