NPP Mourns Theresa Kufuor; Directs Flags To Fly At Half-Mast At Party Offices

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Theresa Kufuor, wife of former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

A statement signed by the NPP General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, eulogized Mrs Kufuor as a beacon for female empowerment and advancement.

According to the party, her initiatives inspired and empowered women of all ages in various aspects of life.

As part of the party’s respect for the late Theresa Kufuor, the NPP has directed that all party flags at its offices across the country fly at half-mast for the next seven days.

Theresa Kufuor died on Sunday, October 1, at her home in Peduase, surrounded by her family.

She was 87 years old.

The late Theresa Kufuor had a distinguished career as a nurse and midwife.

Her education journey began at the Catholic Convent, OLA, in Keta, Volta Region, Ghana.

She later pursued nursing studies in London, becoming a Registered General Nurse within the Southern Hospital Group of Nursing in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Her commitment to healthcare extended to midwifery, and she continued her studies at the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford and Paddington General Hospital in London, ultimately becoming a State Certified Midwife with a Certificate in Premature Nursing.
