NPP Flagbearer Race: Dr Kofi Apraku Returns To Successfully File Nominations
Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, a flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has finally filed his nominations ahead of the presidential primaries.
After visiting the party’s headquarters on Monday, June 19, 2023, to submit his forms, Dr. Apraku was asked to go back and complete his documents and re-submit the same to the party’s elections committee.
But hours after the incident, the NPP stalwart returned with completed forms this time.
Speaking to journalists after submitting his forms, he said that statutes ” require us to send [the forms] including our documents, our vision, and we did not know about it. We didn’t ignore it, but we just did not know.
“So, we did not bring the document, and they asked us to go and get it. We brought it, and everything is okay.
“We have submitted the document,” he added.
The party has scheduled Saturday, June 24, to close nominations ahead of vetting and balloting for the Special Congress in August.
Currently, five aspirants have submitted their forms.
They are Alan Kyerematen, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Boakye Agyarko and Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku.
