Norwegian Mark Hansen named new Manager of Kenpong Academy

Kenpong Football Academy, located in Winneba and owned by businessman and football administrator Kennedy Agyepong, has announced the appointment of Norwegian technical expert Mark Hansen as their new manager.

Mark Hansen, a well-respected Norwegian football manager, has signed a two-year contract with Kenpong Football Academy. In his new role, Hansen will oversee coaching, training, and developing young players to meet international standards. Additionally, he will manage the entire Academy facility.

Academy President Kennedy Agyepong expressed his excitement about Hansen’s appointment, citing his extensive coaching experience in Norway and Spain. “We are keen on introducing modern trends in the management of Kenpong Academy, and Mark Hansen’s appointment is a significant step in that direction,” Agyepong stated.

Hansen holds a UEFA B-license and has participated in study tours with top clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester City, Barcelona, and La Masia. “Mark Hansen brings a strong desire to develop the talent at the Academy to a level that will attract the attention of football scouts from Europe and elsewhere,” Agyepong added.

Agyepong emphasized that Hansen has clear terms of reference and is expected to perform exceptionally to elevate the Academy’s talent to the highest competitive standards.

Significant investments have been made in the Academy’s infrastructure to support this goal. “We have invested in state-of-the-art training pitches, established a modern gym with top-quality equipment, created hostel facilities for both players and technical officials, built a high-standard swimming pool, procured a luxury bus, and set up a modern kitchen to monitor players’ meals,” Agyepong said.

He concluded by stating, “It is an ongoing process, and I am working hard with my management team to ensure that the Academy embraces the best facilities possible for its progress.”

Hansen’s appointment marks a new chapter for Kenpong Football Academy as it aims to become a premier destination for nurturing football talent in Ghana and beyond.
