The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has emphasized his commitment to a peaceful 2024 general election.

This comes as concerns grow over the rise of inflammatory rhetoric in the political landscape, raising fears of potential violence.

Speaking to the media in Accra on August 25, Dr. Bawumia expressed his concern over the increasing use of incendiary language in politics.

In his remarks, Dr. Bawumia mentioned that the pursuit of political power should be driven by the desire to improve the lives of Ghanaians, not by violence or chaos.

“While nobody profits from violence and chaos. It bears repeating that not a single drop of Ghanaian blood should be sacrificed for power.

“Our party is determined to pitch our ideas as we have always done and to demonstrate our superiority over any and above any other party can offer,” he said.

He also highlighted the NPP’s commitment to campaigning on ideas and maintaining respectful political engagement.

Dr Bawumia urged those threatening violence to reconsider, reminding them that such actions are un-Ghanaian and that the country’s peace must be preserved.
