“The lotto fraudsters and social media miscreants are able to convince greedy people, who want to be rich over night, to make mobile money transfers to them in exchange for winning lotto numbers, “ it explains.

It notes some instances where imposters dressed as staff of the authority to lure people unsuspecting victims.

The statement says the NLA has  not authorised or appointed any individual or group of individuals to offer winning numbers.

“Lottery is a game of chance and it is very impossible to foretell winning numbers before draws, “ it said.

“The authority does not have Facebook accounts or pages, neither has it designed a registration form to register winning lotto numbers, “ the statement adds.
