Nigeria produce stunning comeback to win 2024 CAF Women’s AFCON

For the 10th time, Nigeria’s Super Falcons are champions of Africa after delivering a stunning performance to beat the host nation, Morocco.

Nigeria successfully came back from two goals down to beat Morocco 3-2 to get back to the apex of women’s football on the African continent.

Rolling into the final as heavy favourites, Nigeria got stunned twice early in the first half when Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaa Mssoudy scored for Morocco in the 12th and 24th minutes, respectively.

For Morocco, losing to Nigeria represents another heartbreaking loss in the final, following their defeat in the 2022 edition’s final game to South Africa. The North African nation is still waiting to win its first-ever Women’s AFCON title.
