A National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) officer was robbed at gunpoint at Crispo City, a suburb of Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.

The robbers stole the officer’s Toyota Corolla, with registration number GX 1621-20, along with mobile phones and two television sets.

The incident occurred on Thursday, August 22, around 2:30 am when the officer and his wife were asleep.

The couple was tied up and threatened by three armed robbers who broke into their home wielding guns and cutlasses.

In addition to stealing the car and household items, the robbers demanded the officer’s MoMo (mobile money) pin.

When their attempts to extort money failed, they sealed the couple’s mouths with tape before fleeing the scene.

The officer reported that his wife and children are severely traumatized by the ordeal.

Police investigations are ongoing to bring the perpetrators to justice.
