Next NDC government will introduce weighing system for buying and selling – Asiedu Nketiah
The National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has said that plans are underway to re-introduce a weighing and measurement system in the market, targeted at ensuring fair trade practices and consumer protection in Ghana when the NDC is elected into office on December 7, 2024.
He said this at Ayeremu, a farming community in the Krachi East Municipality while addressing party supporters as part of a two-day campaign tour in the area.
Mr Nketiah emphasised that the system had been designed to ensure consumers received accurate quantities for their purchases and that farmers and sellers were fairly compensated for their goods and services.
He said that these initiatives would not only benefit local farmers to get value for their produce but also enhance consumer confidence and promote fair trading in the markets.
The national chairman urged the constituents to vote for change in the 2024 general elections, promising the party would restore the dignity and prestige of the presidency.
He urged supporters and Ghanaians to vote for Mr John Dramani Mahama and the NDC for change to build the Ghana we want together.
