“Next chapter in my life unfolding” – Ursula Owusu says after losing Ablekuma West seat
The outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma West constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has hinted that the next chapter of her life is unfolding following her defeat in the just-ended parliamentary elections.
In a Facebook post made on Saturday, December 14, the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation wrote, “Next chapter in my life unfolding, so let’s see what He (God) has in store for me.”
In the post, the outgoing minister also thanked God for the opportunity to serve the country over the past eight years. “Thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to serve,” she said.
She also expressed gratitude to her constituents, saying, “Thank you, Ablekuma West!! Sayonara.” The MP emphasized that she is looking “into the future with confidence.”
Many Facebook users who reacted to the post praised her for being a good leader, with others thanking her for her contributions to the constituency and the country at large.
“Great woman by all standards. God bless you abundantly. We love you,” commented one of her followers.
Another said, “You have done your best. God bless you,” while one person urged her to “be humble in your next chapter,” describing her as an arrogant person.
The Communications Minister was defeated by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Rev. Kweku Addo, in last Saturday’s polls.
Rev. Addo won the parliamentary election with 31,866 votes, while Mrs Owusu-Ekuful trailed with 26,575.
She is among some notable NPP MPs who have lost their seats to NDC.
