Newcastle United targets summer move for Ghanaian teen Jeremy Doku

Premiership side, Newcastle United is considering the signing Ghanaian youngster, Jeremy Doku, when the transfer window opens this summer.

The Belgian-born Ghanaian footballer has been a key figure for RSC Anderlecht this season, featuring in 27 games in all competitions, netting three goals and making three assists.

According to a Spanish tabloid, TodoFichajes, Doku has emerged as a top target for the club as a key figure of the team’s squad for the upcoming season.

Reports have it that clubs like Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool, Galatasaray and Olympique Marseille have all expressed their interest in the winger following his exploits in the Belgian top-flight league with RSC Anderlecht.

Doku’s father is said to have recently revealed that the Anderlecht teenager previously turned down a move to Liverpool to further his career in Belgium.

Despite playing for Belgium U15, U16, U17 and U21, the 18-year-old wonder kid can still play for the senior national team, Black Stars.

Doku was among Ghanaian footballers Black Star head coach, Charles Kwabla Akonnor met during his last Europe tour, to ascertain performances of players plying the trade in Europe.
