UEFA have opened disciplinary proceedings against Pedro Neto after he pushed a ball boy during Chelsea’s Champions League first-leg last-16 loss at PSGon Wednesday.
The 26-year-old pushed a ball boy in stoppage time at the Parc des Princes as he tried to take a throw in.
The ball bay fell on to a chair, sparking a confrontation between both sets of players.
Neto apologised to the ball boy after the game and he was not punished by the match referee, as did Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior who said after the game: “If there was anything from our side that was wrong or out of order, I apologise on behalf of the club.”
However, Neto could be punished by UEFA, who have opened proceedings against the Portugal forward for “unsporting behaviour”.
