NEIP descends heavily on Afia Schwarzenegger for peddling falsehood
The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme, NEIP, has expressed its displeasure at the deliberate smear campaign embarked on by Television personality Afia Schwarzenegger, in a bid to discredit their work.
According to NEIP, Afia Schwarzenegger’s allegations that some undeserving persons have been chosen as beneficiaries of a Creative Business Cup Competition, organised by Empire Protocol, are false, misleading and contemptuous.
Disputing a viral video done by Afia Schwarzenegger alleging that one Vanessa Mensah of Terrific Scientific Busters did not deserve to be part of winners of the programme, NEIP explained, “As part of their incentives for winning the national competition the winners of the Creative Business Cup Competition also received support from his Excellency, the President under the NEIP Presidential Business Support Programme window 2.
“It was in fulfilment of this support that Vanessa Mensah was selected to represent the 2019 winners of the creative business cup who received and an amount of Ghs 90,000 (Ninety thousand Ghana cedis),” NEIP indicated.
A statement signed by NEIP’s Media Relations Officer, Joseph Osei Oppong Brenya noted, “There were other important players in the Creative Art Industry who benefited from the Presidential Business Support Programme PBSP including Matilda Asante of Kumawood fame, Louis Lamis for Kejetia V Makola fame, Gloria Sarfo among others. The attacks on the young lady Vanessa Mensah were needless and unprovoked.”
NEIP firmly believes that “Afia Schwarzenegger only exposes her ignorance on the meritorious winners of the Presidential Business Support Programme and must be treated with scorn and contempt that she deserves.”
Below is the detail of the press release by NEIP.

In further response to the said video, the government recognises the quality and influence of certain players in the creative arts industry and in particular Shirley Frimpong Manso has already been engaged to produce video documentaries of the impact evaluation of the Presidential Business Support Programme Window 1.
There were other important players in the Creative Art Industry who benefited from the Presidential Business Support Programme PBSP including Matilda Asante of Kumawood fame, Louis Lamis for Kejetia V Makola fame, Gloria Sarfo among others.
