A group of loyalists from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region has formally petitioned the police to investigate a suspected looting incident at the STC bus terminals in Oforikrom and Adum.

The group received a tip-off from an informant indicating that some equipment was missing from the terminals.

Acting on this information, they alerted the police and proceeded to the locations to inspect the situation.

Upon their visit, they reported that various crucial items, such as power plants, car tyres, and other equipment, were unaccounted for.

Alhaji Nje, the leader of the group and a member of the Ashanti Regional Inter-Party and Civil Society Organisations (CSO) Committee, explained that when they questioned the terminal administrator about the missing power plant, he claimed it had been sent for repairs.

However, an engineer at the Oforikrom terminal contradicted this, revealing that someone had shown a receipt suggesting the plant had been sold.

Alhaji Nje confirmed that the alleged looting incident at the Oforikrom terminal has been reported to the Oforikrom Police Station for further investigation, while the case at the Adum terminal is being handled by the Adum Divisional Police.

He added that while awaiting feedback from the police, the group will conduct background checks and gather more information before submitting their findings to the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team for further action.

“We received information, along with pictures, showing some tyres and machinery at the yard, which seemed to be missing. We arrived with Oforikrom constituency executives and the task force leadership. Before our visit, we had already informed the police of the situation. Upon inspection, the power plant was not there, and three brand new buses had been burned. It is a shocking discovery, and we have asked the police to investigate. We are also compiling our report for the ORAL team,” Alhaji Nje shared.
