The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, has disclosed that the party will deploy drones to monitor the 2024 general elections.
Mr. Ashie Moore stated that the initiative aims to protect the security of the expected two million votes for the NDC in the capital.
Moreover, the move to use drones during this year’s election is to prevent irregularities.
According to Ashie Moore, comprehensive plans were already in motion, including personnel training to fly the drones.
“Next week, we are going to train constituency executives on how to use drones to monitor what happens during the elections,” Ashie Moore told some party supporters.
Mr Moore emphasized the party’s commitment to securing all necessary resources for a smooth electoral process.
Meanwhile, the NDC’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has also called on members, supporters, and sympathizers of the party to be extra vigilant in the 2024 elections.
During his recent ‘Building Ghana Tour’ in Accra, Mr Mahama urged NDC executives and key stakeholders to strengthen their efforts to secure victory in the 2024 polls.
“One of the key things in this election is going to be vigilance. We can do all the campaigning we want but if we are not vigilant on the day and don’t cover every polling station with eagle eyes, you will do everything you can and not achieve the objective that you want and so in Greater Accra in particular, we want you to cover your polling stations with the best party agents”.
