The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will on Saturday October 19 hold its second batch of parliamentary primaries in 25 more constituencies, to elect candidates for 2020 general elections.
The party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC) made this known after the committee met on the matter.
The exercise will take place in Eastern, Ashanti and Central regions respectively.
Reports gathered indicate in the Eastern Region, primaries will be conducted in 7 constituencies; Achiase, Asene Manso Akroso, Ofoase Ayirebi, Akwatia, Akuapem South, Okere and New Juabeng South.
For the Ashanti region, 14 constituencies will take part in this exercise. These constituencies are Fomena, Odotobri, Manhyia South, Nhyiaeso, Asokwa, Manhyia North, Tafo, Atwima Mponua, Atwima Kwanwoma, Afigya Kwabre South, Mampong, Manso Nkwanta, Suame and Kwadaso.
In the Central Region Efutu, Upper Denkyira West and Awutu-Senya East will hold primaries, while in the Western Region only Esikado Ketan will hold primary.
Meanwhile, the party’s Director of Communications, Kakra Essamuah has advised delegates to comport themselves and abide by the rules governing the electioneering process.
The main and first batch of NDC parliamentary primaries was held on Saturday, August 24, which saw 524 persons contesting for 157 seats across the country.
