The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended Kpeli Worlase, an Afram Plains North Constituency member in the Eastern Region.

A statement from the party signed by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey cited various acts of misconduct as reasons for the suspension.

The party highlighted several allegations against Mr Worlase, including accusations of campaigning against the party’s parliamentary candidate and other forms of anti-party activities in the constituency.

“At its meeting on the 23rd of July, 2024, the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) deliberated on the matter and decided to suspend you from the party pursuant to Article 48 of the party’s constitution,” the statement said.

The matter has since been referred to the National Disciplinary Committee for further investigation and adjudication.

The statement added that it would be in Mr Worlase’s best interest to avail himself for adjudication to enable the committee to submit a report with recommendations to FEC for further action.
