Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak will run unopposed in the upcoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries.

This is because the Builsa South MP was the only one who had registered his intent to contest at the end of the deadline by the NDC on February 24.

In a statement, Mr Apaak thanked the constituents for their confidence in his leadership.

“It is with great humility that I express my profound gratitude to the rank and file of the NDC in Builsa South for making me the Candidate for the party for the coming 2024 parliamentary elections.

“To have been favoured to represent the NDC unopposed as was the case for the 2020 elections is an honour I will never take for granted. I will continue to serve with integrity, and promise to work even harder to retain the seat and to increase the votes of John Dramani Mahama,” he said.

Meanwhile, the NDC has scheduled May 13 to hold its parliamentary primaries before the 2024 general elections.

It will also hold its presidential primaries on the same day.

The submission and filing of forms will take place from March 20 to March 22, 2023.

The vetting of the aspirants will be held from March 27 to March 29, 2023.

After the vetting, aspirants who have issues with the vetting process will have the opportunity to appeal from March 30 to April 6, 2023, before the main primaries on May 13.
