NDC Manifesto Launch: I will build dialysis centres in every region – Mahama
The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has announced plans to build dialysis centres in all regions of Ghana to improve access to healthcare services.
Mr. Mahama made this pledge at the NDC’s manifesto launch in Winneba, Central Region.
“We will build dialysis centres in all regions to ensure that Ghanaians have access to quality healthcare services, regardless of where they live,” Mahama said.
Mr Mahama emphasized that healthcare is a fundamental human right, and his government would prioritize it.
“We will ensure that every Ghanaian has access to quality healthcare, from the village to the city,” he said.
In addition to building dialysis centres, the NDC Flagbearer mentioned other health policies, including, free primary healthcare for all Ghanaians, restoration of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to its former glory, increase in the number of midwives and nurses in rural areas and completion of abandoned healthcare projects.
“We will also prioritize preventive healthcare, because prevention is better than cure,” Mahama said.
He added that, if given the nod come December 7, his government will educate Ghanaians on healthy living, and provide them with the necessary tools to stay healthy.
