NDC demands emergency meeting with EC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has requested an emergency meeting with the Electoral Commission (EC) to address concerns about the ongoing voters’ exhibition exercise.

In a letter signed by the NDC’s General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey, the party highlighted severe discrepancies discovered during the 2024 voter exhibition exercise.

According to the party, the discrepancies emanate from an analysis of the Provisional Voter Register (PVR) given to them by the commission, and registers exhibited at the centres.

The provisional voters register exhibition, which began on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, is expected to end today, Tuesday, August 27.

The exercise is taking place at all polling stations (exhibition centres) in all 268 district offices nationwide from 7 am to 6 pm daily.

The purpose of the exhibition is to allow voters to review registration details, check their polling stations, make changes to their details, or make corrections.

Registered voters can verify their details, that is, name, age, sex, polling station, and photograph as captured during the registration exercise and make changes or insertions where necessary to their details in the voter register.

The exhibition exercise also provides an avenue for qualified citizens to object to the names of minors, foreigners, and the deceased on the voters’ register.
