Nations FC compound Kotoko’s misery with 2-0 Victory
Asante Kotoko’s struggles continue as they suffered their fourth consecutive defeat, losing 2-0 to Nations FC at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
This loss marks a new low for the Porcupine Warriors, whose once-promising season is now unravelling.
The match saw Nations FC dominate proceedings, with Nafiu Sulemana opening the scoring in the 31st minute, followed by Faisal Charwetey’s eighth goal of the season, which sealed the victory just before halftime.
Kotoko’s attack lacked sharpness, missing key players Emmanuel Antwi and top scorer Albert Amoah. Despite having 49% possession and 15 attempts, they failed to register a single shot on target.
This defeat raises questions about head coach Prosper Ogum’s tactics and his ability to address the team’s attacking woes.
Notably, Kotoko have not scored more than one goal in any game this season, and this is only the second time in their history that they’ve lost four consecutive matches.
The win propelled Nations FC to the top of the league table, taking advantage of Bibiani GoldStars’ first defeat of the season to Medeama SC.
