National football leagues ranking; Check out the best leagues in Africa
The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has released a list of the top 80-ranked men’s national football leagues in the world.
The recent release is set shows the best football leagues in the world over the period between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2022.
However, The betPawa Ghana Premier League has missed out on a place among the best as Ghanaian clubs failed to make deep runs in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup in the period under consideration.
Africa had 10 leagues representing on the list with Egypt leading the way as the best-ranked league in Africa and ranks 13th in the world.
In the previous year, Egypt’s League ranked 14th in the world according to the IFFHS.
The Algerian league ranks 20th in the world while Morocco’s top light ranks 24th in the world and the Sudanese league ranks 33rd in the world.
Recently, a former Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku stated a player’s monthly wage in the Algerian league can take care of a player’s expenses for an entire season in the Ghanaian league.
The Nigerian League and Zambian league rank 77th and 79th in the rankings.
