Hajia Ramatu Sharubutu, the wife of the National National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, has passed away.
The cause of her death is unknown.
The family announced her demise in the early hours of Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
A statement issued by the Chief Imam’s spokesperson, Sheikh Armiyawo Shaibu, which was copied to The Ghana Report, has confirmed that a Janazah prayer and burial will be conducted at 2:00 pm, following Islamic traditions, at the Chief Imam’s residence.
Sympathizers are kindly requested to arrive at 1:00 pm to participate in the prayer and extend their support to the grieving family during this challenging time.
Meanwhile, the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has extended his condolences to the bereaved family.
In a Facebook post, he wrote:
Inaa lillahi wa inaa ilayhi raji’un
I have learnt with sadness, the passing of our dear grandmother and beloved wife of the National Chief Imam, Hajia Rahmatu Tahwee Sheikh Sharubutu.
Hajia Samira Bawumia and I extend our condolences to His Eminence, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, and the entire family.
May the Almighty Allah welcome our dear grandmother and grant her Jannatul Firdaus.
