Renowned actress and show host, Nana Ama McBrown, in an intriguing address to attendees at The Ghana Report Jobs and Entrepreneurship Fair, has emphasised the importance of equal opportunities for all.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, she expressed her joy for the inclusion of persons from the informal sector and those without academic certificates, citing herself as an example.

“I’m thrilled to be part of this fair, which provides a platform for young people to access employment opportunities that do not exclude youths without academic certificates,” she said.

“Not having an academic certificate shouldn’t hold you back; provisions have been made for you here; there will be skills training on CCTV installation, solar panel installation, fashion design, STEM, and more,” Mcbrown added.

The actress further reiterated that both government and private institutions are recruiting; hence, the youth should take advantage of this opportunity.

The 16-day fair, currently ongoing at the Independence Square and the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), brings together over 250 institutions and offers over 5,000 job opportunities.

The fair is being organised by The Ghana Report in collaboration with the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), with participants expected to benefit from direct employment, training, entrepreneurship development, and networking opportunities.

Available jobs cut across government institutions, leading private companies, and international organisations.

Many recruiters, entrepreneurs, skills trainers, and talent hunters are present to employ qualified job seekers on the spot.

Additionally, top officials of Ghana’s security agencies, including the Ghana Prisons Service, the Ghana Immigration Service and the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), are currently recruiting prospective citizens.

Participants can also expect to acquire practical training and mentorship through rapid skills acquisition covering areas such as CCTV installation, solar panel installation, fashion design, STEM, and more.

The fair, which aims to tackle unemployment, is providing business incubation platforms and financial support under a 3-tier funding scheme for research projects with a promising outcome.
