Member of Parliament for North Tongu and former Deputy Minister for Education in the erstwhile Mahama government has bemoaned the incessant corruption scandals that keeps hitting the country and the lack of leadership to address it.

Commenting on the Education Minister’s claim that Former President Mahama deliberately bused people to the Independence Square to sabotage the school placement system, Okudjeto Ablakwa said the Minister’s comments are a clear indication of arrogance and lack of respect to the people of Ghana.

“When leaders do not have the humility, the conscience and the respect for the people to take responsibility, then we know we are doomed” he wrote in a post on social media.

Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, Minister for Education on Tuesday mentioned that some persons who hate the Free SHS policy had deliberately bused people to the Independence Square to sabotage the school placement system.

According to the Minister, the aim of such unscrupulous people is to make the President and the NPP government unpopular for introducing the Free SHS policy.

“Some people are bent on destroying government’s free SHS policy but it won’t work. Unscrupulous selfish persons wanting to drag the name of the government in the mud are behind chaos at Independence Square.”

In a response to these claims by the Education Minister, Okudjeto Ablakwa said “President Mahama procured the new dubious CSSPS software 3 months ago, President Mahama removed all the experienced technocrats from the CSSPS Secretariat, President Mahama dissolved the Technical Working Committee that supervises the CSSPS Secretariat, President Mahama chose the Black Star Square as the CSSPS Solution Centre, then of course President Mahama bused thousands of Ghanaians to the Black Star Square, President Mahama continued with his sabotage by contracting adult and child actors to pretend they had collapsed, President Mahama then arranged ambulances to rush to the Black Star Square to convey his actors to hospitals where President Mahama had already conspired with hospital managers, doctors and nurses to receive his actors and confirm to the media who had also been positioned by President Mahama that indeed President Mahama’s actors had collapsed and truly require medical attention.

As our fascinating younger Ghanaians will say: JM you do all!!!

When leaders do not have the humility, the conscience and the respect for the people to take responsibility, then we know we are doomed.”
