Nana Addo has sidelined Ashanti Region, channeling development to Kyebi -NDC Man
Abass Nurudeen, Ashanti Regional Communication Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of starving the Ashanti Region of development while channeling all developmental projects to his hometown Kyebi.
According to him, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by Nana Akufo-Addo prior to the 2016 elections promised the Ashanti Region and the whole of Ghana development, but has woefully failed in its three and half years in government.
“Kumasi and the whole of Asanteman is yet to see the developmental projects the NPP prior to the 2016 election promised, roads are in deplorable states, but take a trip to Kyebi, the President’s hometown, all the roads there are tarred. He is decorating his hometown,” Mr. Nurudeen said.
Abass Nurudeen argued that, the president’s visit to the Ashanti Regional capital was a waste of resource as the people of Kumasi, unlike previous times were apathetic about his visit.
“Years ago Kumasi was very enthusiastic about the NPP and its leader but you should have seen the reception the President got when he visited Kumasi, people could not be bothered, they termed his visit as ‘Fa fri meso’ tour,” he said.
Abass Nurudeen accused the NPP of abandoning projects started by the erstwhile Mahama in Kumasi.
“Nana Addo did not visit the Kejetia Market, the only place he went to was the Suame interchange where contractors sent tractors there pretending to be working,” he disclosed.
