Nana Addo deliberately spoke in Twi to deceive foreign partners- Asiedu Nketia
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been accused of peddling falsehood in his claim that he has not approved the guidelines on the controversial Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE).
According to General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, government has already received monies from donor partners to roll out the programme in basic schools.
President Akufo-Addo brought clarity on the government’s position on CSE, revealing that Cabinet kicked against the introduction on the programme.
Speaking at St. Cyprains Anglican Church in the Ashanti Regional capital, the President said as an avowed Christian, he will not introduce anything that will corrupt the moral fibre and impact negatively on the future generation.
He has since been commended by religious leaders who had threatened to lead a massive demonstration to express their displeasure against CSE.
But, Mr Nketia on Adom FM’s morning show, said President Akufo-Addo was not sincere.
He explained that, there are manuals for teaching CSE from kindergarten to primary six approved by the government.
The NDC scribe added that President Akufo-Addo’s decision to speak in Twi during the meeting was deliberate because he knows the development partners do not understand Twi.
General Mosquito, as he is popular called, noted that the President is just being smart because he is preaching virtue and practicing vice.
“We expect the President to tell us they have cancelled the agreement and also rejected monies for CSE implementation. Until then, we will treat everything he said as mere rhetoric,” he added.
