Naa Ashorkor tests positive for COVID-19
Ghanaian actress and media personality, Naa Ashorkor has tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.
The mother of two took to her verified Instagram page to share the news.
“After not feeling “like myself” on Thursday night, I did a Covid test and it came out positive,” she said in her post.
The Asaase Radio show host, however, allayed fears of her fans and well-wishers saying “I am feeling okay, following my doctor’s instructions, and currently self-isolating at home.”
Naa Ashorkor further advised the public that “the virus is real. It is still out there.”
“Don’t forget all the safety protocols. Wear your mask at all times. Wash your hands with soap under running water. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Stay safe. Covid is still out there”.
As of October 19, 2020, Ghana’s COVID-19 case count stood at 47, 372. The country’s active cases currently stand at 398.
Some 310 persons have died so far from the virus.
The Greater Accra Region tops the list of regions to have recorded COVID-19 with a total of 24, 530 confirmed cases.
It is followed by the Ashanti Region with 10, 997 cases. The Western Region is the third region with 2, 973 cases.
