My second term won’t be a walk in the park – Mahama
President-elect John Mahama has issued a stern warning to individuals lobbying for positions in his administration, cautioning them to prepare for the challenges ahead.
Speaking during a Thanksgiving Service held in his honour at the Ringway Gospel Church in Accra on Sunday, December 15, 2024, Mahama emphasised that serving in his administration will not be easy.
“I have been receiving calls and knocks on my door and text messages from people who are considering themselves for various positions. And I just want to warn them; it’s not going to be a walk in the park.”
“If you’re not preparing to work and serve the people of Ghana diligently, modestly, and with humility, then don’t come. Just stay where you are,” he noted.
The Thanksgiving Service, attended by Mahama’s family, close friends, and members of his party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), was an opportunity for the president-elect to reflect on his political journey.
He described it as divinely inspired, acknowledging God’s guidance at every step.
While expressing gratitude for his election triumph, Mahama highlighted the immense work ahead, emphasising the need for dedication and hard work from his team.
The service was filled with prayers and hymns as the congregation came together to celebrate Mahama’s victory and seek God’s continued guidance for his presidency.
