Dr Joseph Hamilton, husband of the award-winning Ghanaian gospel musician Diana Hamilton says his life experience from the beginning moulded him to be a better person. Dr. Hamilton in an interview recounted that he used to sell newspapers in the streets because he grew up in a family that sold newspapers for survival.

He noted that every weekend, he has to sacrifice and sell more newspapers to be able to get enough money for school from Monday to Friday. “I have come a long way, and I believe grace has sustained me. Selling newspapers and reading articles helped me learn how to read”. He continued, “While I wouldn’t describe them as difficult times, those experiences have molded me, as I grew up in a family that sold newspapers.

During holidays, I would collect newspapers and sell them in the Bunso area, and then attend school on Mondays”, he noted in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on Hitz FM. Dr. Hamilton comes from the Eastern Region of Ghana. He was born in Kwabeng, where he received his primary education before completing his Junior High School at Nsutem in the Ashanti Region. From there, he proceeded to Pope John Senior High School and then to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) where he earned his first bachelor’s degree.

Dr. Hamilton and his family who resides in the UK are currently in Ghana to promote Diana’s newly released song ‘Say Amen’.
