Ghanaian gospel musician Celestine Donkor has narrated how God shaped her career in a dream which has improved her songwriting skills.

Speaking on how she started, the musician said coming up with a song idea and penning it down for production was a problem for her initially.

She was mostly featured in songs by other artists.

She said her voice and passion for music always attracted her to other artistes, and she was always humbled to accept any collaboration as an artiste.

The ‘Agbebolo’ hitmaker said the inability to write her own songs made her pray consistently to God to assist her since He can do everything.

Sharing her story on how God gave her direction in a dream and manifested physically, Celestine said, “I used to struggle to write songs. It was a prayer topic first on my list; I remember I used to wait on the Lord. After ‘Supernatural’, at the time, I was doing featured works for other artists, but I was not able to come out with the song that my ministry deserved. So it was a need at the time”.

“In the dream, I saw myself on a vast field of flowers, and I was with someone. I believe it was God, I couldn’t see him, but I heard his voice. He was telling me to look at the flowers and study them,” she narrated.

“I started looking, and they were all making music, making sounds – that sound I heard, I hadn’t heard anything like that kind on earth. I enjoyed it. I admired every moment of that dream. To cut a long dream short, the angel said to me, ‘go and sing’.”

According to Celestine, there was a total transformation in her writing skills as she believed the man she saw in her dream was God, and He caused that change and miracle in her life.

“I always feel happy whenever my fans listen to my music and say they are blessed with my song. I know it’s the doing of the Lord”, she noted.

Meanwhile, Celestine Donkor is preparing to hold the 10 edition of her annual gospel concert dubbed ‘Celestial Praiz’ on March 6, 2023, at the Dominion Sanctuary of the Victory Bible Church in Awoshie, Accra.
