MUSIGA is for everyone in the music value chain – Daddy Bosco
The Director of Communications and Special Projects for the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Ahuma Bosco Ocansey, better known as Daddy Bosco, has clarified that the union is open to everyone in the music value chain.
On March 2025, MUSIGA, formed in 1975 will celebrate its 50th anniversary. The 50th-anniversary celebration was launched at the Accra Tourism Information Centre on Thursday, November 7, 2024.
Speaking about the upcoming 50th anniversary, Daddy Bosco while answering a question in line with who is supposed to be a member of the union said:
“MUSIGA is for everyone in the music value chain…You see, musicians alone can’t do it – they need their managers, they need their songwriters, they need publicists…so once you doing something that is related to Music you qualify to be a member”.
Daddy Bosco quickly explains, “When you are doing something relating to music in terms of the production aspect, not the consumption because if you are a listener or a lover of music maybe you can join as a patron or something or an associate.”
“If you run a business and you want to affiliate with MUSIGA you can be an associate member…for people like Reagan who used to manage the late Terry Bonchaka is now a music publicist is entitled to join the union” He added
