A motorbike rider lost his life after colliding with a sand truck at Kaosa CP around Bible College in the Central Region.
The yet-to-be-identified rider was reportedly attempting to maneuver around the truck when the collision occurred, trapping him underneath.
The impact crushed the rider, causing his immediate death due to significant head injuries.
Officers from the Kasoa Police Command rushed to the scene and retrieved the body.
The accident also left the Yamaha motorbike completely destroyed.
Accidents involving motorbikes and larger vehicles like trucks have become increasingly common in the Central Region.
Factors contributing to these incidents include high traffic volumes, inadequate road infrastructure, and sometimes reckless driving practices.
According to recent statistics from the National Road Safety Authority, motorbike-related accidents account for a significant percentage of road fatalities in the region.
Many of these accidents occur in densely populated areas such as Kasoa, where the mix of commercial activities and insufficient road safety measures create a perilous environment for riders.
In response to the growing number of such accidents, authorities have initiated various safety campaigns and increased law enforcement efforts.
However, despite these measures, the frequency of accidents remains troublingly high.
