A 35-year-old woman, Regina Ankomah, and her three children perished in a fire that swept through their home in Twifo Hemang Zongo in the Central Region.
Some neighbours who witnessed the incident immediately called the Twifo Praso fire service but the family of four were already burnt beyond recognition when the firefighters arrived at the scene.
The blaze also destroyed all properties in the house, leaving behind utter devastation.
The neighbours told reporters that the outbreak may have been caused by a burning candle, following a power outage in the community.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has launched an investigation into the incident as the exact cause is not immediately known.
Meanwhile, the bodies have been deposited at the Twifo Praso Government Mortuary by the GNFS as police conduct further investigations.
This comes after two children were burnt to death in a domestic fire outbreak in the Birim Central Municipality of the Eastern region.
The incident occurred on Sunday, May 12, 2024.
Information gathered indicated that their mother also got severely injured, while properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis were destroyed.

The two children, who were part of a five-member family, were asleep in the three-bedroom house when the unfortunate incident happened.
According to an eyewitness, he saw the ravaging inferno from the roof of the building and rushed to call the occupants.
They struggled for some time before unlocking the doors to rescue them.
However, he couldn’t return to rescue the two children trapped in the room.
He disclosed that the house was connected to electricity a few weeks before the incident, and the electric pole caught fire, leading to the outbreak.
