A mortician suspected to be in his 30s has been burned to death by an angry mob at Adum Dominase in the Mpohor Fiase District of the Ashanti region.
The violent act was sparked by allegations of the mortician’s involvement in the murder of a missing woman, also in her 30s.
According to District Chief Executive Ignatius Assah Mensah, reports of the missing woman were received on December 18, and her body was later discovered at the Adum Dominase market under suspicious circumstances.
The mortician, who was suspected of the crime, was subsequently set ablaze by residents.
The police are currently investigating the incident to determine the facts surrounding the woman’s death and the mob attack.
Authorities have yet to provide details on the circumstances leading to the tragic events.
