Mohammed Kudus named Eredivisie ‘Player of the Week’ after dazzling display

Ghana’s Kudus Mohammed was adjudged the Player of the Week in the Dutch Eredivisie after an impressive display for his club, Ajax in their win over Heerenveen.

The youngster scored and provided a brace of assists as the Dutch giants dismantled Heerenveen 5-1 at the Johan Cryuff Arena on Sunday.

Kudus was making a return to the team after recovering from an injury that ruled him out of the international break for Ghana.

His performance not only gave him his second Man of the Match title since joining the club from FC Nrdsjaelland but also earned him high ratings to crown him the best player from the Eredivisie over the weekend.

The 20-year-old had earlier assisted Dusan Tadic to open the scoring in the 4th minute before getting himself onto the scoresheet ten minutes from recess.

The former Ghana U17 and U20 star then set up Brazilian forward Antony dos Santos with a silky pass in the 87th to seal the victory for Ajax.
