West Ham United manager David Moyes says new recruit Mohammed Kudus might need a bit of time to settle into his new club.
Moyes said this in a post-game interview after West Ham suffered a 1-3 loss to Manchester City in the Week 5 round of games in the English Premier League.
Kudus made his West Ham debut in the loss after coming on as a substitute in the 67th minute for Michail Antonio. Kudus joined West Ham on a five-year deal reportedly worth $48 million from Ajax Amsterdam.
Speaking in the interview, veteran coach Moyes also pointed out the fine start to life at West Ham made by fellow midfielder James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez but stated Kudus would need a bit more time to settle in at the London club.
“Been brilliant; Edson and James have done a brilliant job and have started the season incredibly well. We might need to wait a little bit more time for Dinos (Konstantinos Mavropanos) and Mo (Mohammed Kudus) to get settled in, but overall I am really pleased with how they have started.”
Kudus won four of six ground duels and scored a 57% mark on accurate pass attempts in his 23 minutes debut.
