Missing Takoradi girls: Discovered human remains to be analysed; further probe underway – Police
Remains found at the residence of the key suspect in the kidnap of three girls in Takoradi are to be sent to the forensic science laboratory of the Ghana Police Service for analysis and further investigations.
This follows a joint operation by the Criminal Investigations Department and the Western Regional Police Command which led to the retrieval of human remains from a septic tank at the residence of Samuel Odeoutuk, a key suspect in the alleged kidnap of the three girls upon a tip off, The Ghana Report can authoritatively state.
A statement by the police detailing the sequence of events reveals that a further probe into the situation will continue even as officials await the results of the analysis by the Forensic Science lab unit.
The strange disappearance of Priscilla Blessing Bentum, Ruth Love Quayeson and Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, all in Takoradi, made the headlines in Ghana with concerns raised over the seeming increase in crime in the country.
21-year-old Bentum was the first to have disappeared in August 2018. The student allegedly left home for choir practice and never returned.
Months later, 18-year-old Ruth Love Quayeson also disappeared.
Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, a 15-year-old who had decided to take a stroll to Nkroful also went missing in December last year.
The security agencies have been relentless in their quest to find the ‘missing’ girls. After months of search and investigations, a report by the Police, though inconclusive, suggests that the three may be dead.
