First runner-up of the 2019 edition of the Miss Ghana beauty pageant has resigned from her post, JoyNews sources say.

The sources say Sarah Odei Amoani handed in her letter to the organiser Inna Patty whose management of the beauty pageant continues to generate controversy.

The beauty queen is unhappy with some demands required of her, sources have said.

The decision comes barely three months after she came second to Rebecca Nana Adwoa Kwabi (winner) at the finale held July 6 at the Kempinski Hotel. Deborah Opoku Sarfo was adjudged, 2nd runner-up.

Although she wants to quit, JoyNews’ sources say the organiser, Inna Patty, is yet to give in to the conditions suggested by Miss Amoani for an amicable termination.

JoyNews have tried to reach out to the organisers but they are yet to respond to the issue and Miss Amoani has also travelled out of the country.

Sarah Odei Amoani joins a growing list of winners who have resigned.

The 2017 winner of Ghana’s foremost beauty pageant Margeret Dery took to Twitter to vent her anger at the organisers, labelling the pageantry a scam after she resigned.

The 1st and 2nd runners up of the 2017 edition of Miss Ghana, Marigold Frimpong and Priscilla Nana Akua Gameli, also resigned shortly after Margeret Dery.

Other former winners of the pageant including Miss Ghana 2010 – Stephanie Karikari, Miss Ghana 2015 – Antoinette Delali Kemavor, Miss Ghana 2013 – Giuseppina Nana Akua Baafi and 1 first-runner up – Margaret Kuma-Mintah did same.
