Minister shames two lousy road contractors before President and Otumfuo
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah has named and shamed two road contractors for exhibiting a lousy attitude of some doing rehabilitation works on some major roads in the city of Kumasi.
In the presence of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Adddo and Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II yesterday, the regional minister named and shamed the contractors working on the Kumasi Inner Ring Road and the other one working on the remodeling of roundabouts from Ejisu to Tech Junction.
While commending others, including the contractors working on roads such as the Trede-Ahodwo Road, Ahodwo-Daaba Road, and the Adoato-Adumanu Road, Mr. Osei Mensah said the work of the other two contractors rather left much to be desired, calling on the President and Otumfuo to whip them in line.
He said the attitude of the two contractors is casting a blight on the massive road infrastructure being embarked upon by the President in the Ashanti region.
Though the regional minister failed to name the two contractors, checks by MyNewsGh.com have confirmed that Joshob Construction Limited, is the contractor remodeling the round-abouts.
The completion of the remodeling of the four roundabouts on the Ejisu-Tech Junction stretch of the Kumasi-Accra Highway has been six months overdue, after work commenced in May 2018 and was scheduled to be completed within six months.
It is unclear what might have caused the delay.
